This lesson will allow you to edit whether attendance for a particular section is included or not included in Attendance Reporting. By default, all courses/sections (see also, lesson titled Include or Remove a Courses Attendance from Attendance Reporting) in the Illuminate system are factored into Attendance Reporting for the Regular Education funding category unless you change the course's Attendance Reporting status.
Note: This assumes that the default funding category has not already been changed at the broader session or department level.
What is the difference between course and section?
Sometimes courses need to be split into separate funding categories, meaning the majority of the course offerings fall under one funding category however there are a few offerings of the course that fall under a different funding category. For example: Algebra is offered as a regular education class at all high schools in the district. One campus has one period of the day where they offer the same Algebra course but it is taken by students that fall under the special education funding category. In this case only the one section where Algebra would need to be managed using the instructions below.
Find Section using Live Section

To edit a section:
1. Click on the Scheduling tab.
2. Under Live Schedule, select Live Sections.
3. Note that sections can also be edited from The Board as well.
Find Section Using Edit Section

Enter any information that will help you locate the section in which you are interested, and then click Submit.

Click the Edit icon next to the section for which you want to change ADA reporting status.

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Yes or No in answer to the question: Exclude from State Reporting?
Note: At this time there are other options that can be selected such as disable attendance and include in CSR Reporting.
2. Click Save.

Click on the box that contains the course name.

A pop up box will appear.
1. If the default funding category needs to be adjusted, use the dropdown to choose the appropriate Attendance Program Set exception. If your district has unique funding categories beyond the Illuminate defaults please contact your Illuminate implementation manager to create additional categories.
Click Save.
Or Edit Section Using The Board
There is more than one way to edit a section. There may be times when you are viewing the schedule board and find that edits to a section need to be made. In that situation, follow the steps below for an alternate way to edit a section.

1. Click on Scheduling.
2. Under Live Schedule, select The Board.
Locate Section Using The Board

1. Use the filters to locate the section you wish to change.
2. Click on the blue section number.
Edit Section

A pop up window will appear listing all of the students in the section. Click on the Edit Section button.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Yes or No in answer to the question: Exclude from State Reporting?
Click Save.
