Illuminate's Translations feature allows users to create and manage field level translations for parents/guardians to view when completing a Custom Form or Pre-Registration Form. These translations are managed via the “Manage Translations” page.
There are four permissions that are used with Translations:
- Manage Translations - This enables the Manage Translations link in the navigation menu.
- View Translations - This allows a user to view (but not edit) Custom Forms/Pre-Registration Translations on the Manage Translations page.
- Edit Translations - This allows a user to edit translations on the Manage Translations page.
- Enable Languages - This allows a user to enable different languages for use with the Manage Translations feature
This step allows an administrator to select which languages are available for use with the translations feature. This step only needs to be completed once per language.
1. Navigate to Admin Cog Wheel > Manage Translations.

2. Click the Enable Languages button.

3. Enable the desired language and click Save. Note: We currently only support Spanish translations.

This step allows administrators to create a translation for each form field, or use Google Translate to auto-populate all fields on the page. By default, all common fields are populated with translations provided by Illuminate Education.
2. Select the Language you wish to translate to.
3. Select the Field Group to translate.
4. Click Edit.
5. The table that displays will show the English field name in the left column, and the translation in the right column.
6. Type in translations in the right hand column, or click the Google Translate button to auto-populate all translations. Note: Using the Google Translate button will replace ALL translations displayed on the page.
7. Click the Save button to save changes.

Translated Fields:
1. Navigate to Admin Cog Wheel > Manage Pre-Registration Forms.
2. Create a new Pre-Registration Form or Edit an Existing Pre-Registration Form.
3. An indicator will now display next to any field which has been translated. If there is a translation missing, it can be updated via the Manage Translations page.

Textblocks:
1. Click the Textblock button to create a new textblock.
2. There are now tabs in the text area for each language.
3. Navigate to each tab to populate the textblock text for that language.
4. If you would like to use Google Translate, fill out the English tab, then navigate to the Spanish tab, and click the Google Translate button.

Preview:
Our form preview feature allows previewing in different languages.
1. In the form builder, click the Preview button.
3. Use the Select Language drop down to select a language to preview.

When a parent/guardian navigates to the Pre-Registration page for a district, they will now be able to select their language from a dropdown in the top right corner of the page. This will translate the Pre-Registration workflow before the user enters portal.

Setting the flag will allow a user to complete the portal account creation process in Spanish. Once the user logs into the portal, and clicks the Complete the Pre-Registration Form button, they will be presented with a modal to select the form specific language. Selecting Spanish here will allow parents/guardians to complete the rest of the form in Spanish.
