Sites.txt, one of the first files brought over by new Illuminate adopters, this file contains the foundational information by which all other files will reference. To learn a bit more about the sites.txt file, click over to the sites.txt import process document. Due to its importance, it is essential that all information brought over be accurate; to easily check for accuracy, follow the below steps:
1. Once signed into Illuminate, click on your admin cog *Note: You can also navigate the system using the Quick Switcher. If you are using a PC, hit CTRL and the letter K on your keyboard. If you are using a Mac, hit command and the letter K. Next, you will see a pop-up modal on your screen. Next, you will see a pop-up modal on your screen. Type the menu heading or task you want to complete, in this case you would type “User Management”.
2. From the drop down selections, click on Site Management:
3. Once in Site Management, each of your imported sites will be available to view. Focus in on the key fields, such as address, Local and State Site IDs, Start and End Grades, and Site type (K-8, Elementary, etc.) Pay special attention to the State Codes and CRDC fields, as both will be crucial for State and Federal reporting.
4. Changes can either be made via another import, or by making the changes/corrections using the edit icon located on the left hand side of each row.
** Keep in mind, that if you are manually editing data through the Illuminate user interface, any changes that you make can be overwritten by subsequent imports. Make sure to have a plan: fix via imports or fix manually. Trying to do both may lead to unwanted overwrites to your manually updated data.
