Q. What is the failover plan for customers utilizing Illuminate DB Access, LDAP Authentication and/or SFTP in the case of service interruption on this link?
A. All customers that utilize these services must make their own failover plan to switch from the “primary internet uplink IP addresses” to the “redundant internet uplink IP addresses”, from this list, in the case that the Illuminate’s primary uplink becomes unresponsive.
Q. What if we don’t add the secondary ISP to our firewall exception?
A. As long as the primary ISP is working Illuminate services will work properly (LDAP, SFTP, ODBC). If our redundant ISP is needed due to service degradation from our primary ISP, those services mentioned above will cease to function properly.
Q. How will I know if the primary primary internet uplink IP address has failed?
A. Illuminate will provide a status update via our status page. Please note that you can subscribe via the status page to receive a notification in various formats for your convenience.
Q. Should service delays or slowdowns be expected if the redundant internet uplink were to become necessary as a failover for the primary internet uplink?
A. There will be a period of unavailability once the primary internet uplink fails until our development operations team switches our network configurations from the primary internet uplink to the redundant internet uplink.
Q. I do not utilize IP addresses for any of my other Illuminate services, why do I need these IP addresses?
A. You will only need these IP addresses if you would like to take advantage of the option to continue to use Illuminate DB Access, LDAP Authentication and/or SFTP in the case of service interruption on the primary internet uplink.
Q. What if the IP address entries cannot be added before the change is made on December 22nd?
A. We are providing this failover as a redundancy and adding these IP addresses currently optional at this point.
