Upon importing data from the Student Information System (SIS) teacher users are assigned their teacher role and access to students accordingly. All other users are manually created via User Management. This course provides the process for locating an existing user, creating a new user, assigning the user Site and Role Affiliations, Terms, and any other additional details that an organization may need to be affiliated to a user. Each of these aspects of a user's account drive what student information a user can access, their default permissions, and potential reporting data.

DnA has different methods to importing different types of data. The Core Data Import Logs display a validation of student data that is brought in from the Student Information System (SIS). This is key in making sure that DnA is up to date with the most recent student data, including enrollment, rosters, demographic data, and more. Certain codes from an SIS may need to be added to DnA prior to imports for a more complete student picture, which is setup in Code Management. State Data may also be brought in and some datasets are compatible with available pre-built reports. Any data that there is not an available importer for can always be brought in via a Summary Assessment, which allows for full customization, similar to a spreadsheet. This data can be imported from a spreadsheet or manually entered and shared with other users and can provide a wealth of information surrounding a student in one place. Regardless of the method of importing or adding data to DnA, it can almost always be viewed via the Student Profile.

Assessments are a core element of DnA and need to be carefully managed to not overwhelm users with thousands of assessments and be setup to provide effective and meaningful data. The Test Admin account will house any purchased assessments, and is a common place to create district wide assessments as it can be a place for multiple users to collaborate. Add Performance Bands to assessments to allow set specific cut points and performance levels for specific assessment types to most effectively analyze the data. Additionally, Tags and Filters can be applied to assessments to allow for organization and easy access.
