There are two different types of item content within DnA: Publisher Content and Authored Content. This article explains the differences between the Item IDs displayed for Publisher Content and Authored Content.
Before You Begin
This article begins assuming users have already accessed New Item Bank. If guidance to New Item Bank is needed, take a look at The NEW Item Bank FAQ.
Publisher Content

Publish Content contains the IDs:
-
Item ID - Original Item ID number in New Item Bank. This ID can be used to search for the item.
- The Legacy Item ID (formerly "Master ID") from Legacy Item Bank is displayed as the Item ID in New Item Bank.
- External ID - The External ID is the Inspect Item ID from Legacy Item Bank and is how users can track Inspect content between Legacy Item Bank and New Item Bank.
- Item Rev ID - Relates to any revisions made to the item. This ID can be used to search for the item. If an item is revised, reports will display the Item Rev ID because it points directly to the revision of the item used on that specific assessment. However, if any student has started the assessment prior to the revision, the revision will not update on that assessment's report.
Authored Content

Authored Content contains the IDs:
- Item ID - Original item ID number in NIB. This ID can be used to search for the item.
- Item Rev ID - Relates to any revisions made to the item. This ID can be used to search for the item. If an item is revised, reports will display the Item Rev ID because it points directly to the revision of the item used on that specific assessment. However, if any student has started the assessment prior to the revision, the revision will not update on that assessment's reports.
