This chapter will assist educators who wish to create temporary placements for Medicaid purposes for students receiving summer school programming.
Previously in Illuminate, service providers had to manually change the service provider for students enrolled in summer school/extended school year programming in order to accurately bill Medicaid.
Recently, our development team has created a Temporary Placement option to quickly and efficiently assign students to a provider's caseload when the student is enrolled in summer school or extended school year programming. This new tool is especially effective because, as educators, we know that, while not always the case, often times, students are provided programming/services during the summer months by a person other than the original provider in the student's IEP.
Lessons in this chapter are designed to assist service providers with creating a "temporary caseload" so that their district can still bill Medicaid without having to go through a taxing, time consuming process.
