This lesson will guide you through the use of the Search Incident Reports page. This allows you to enter custom criteria to find a list of specific incident reports.
Where to Start

1. Click on Behavior.
2. Select Search Incident Reports.
Using the Search Filters

Once you click on Search Incident Reports, filters will populate.
1. Use the tabs along the top to mix and match your search criteria. For example, maybe you want to search by date range 9/1/14 to 9/12/14 and then by Consequence-Detention, to list all the detentions in that time frame.
2. Enter your criteria. You do not need to fill them all out. Fill in as many or few as you would like.
3. Once all your criteria is selected, click Search Records.
Search by Students
The most common and most efficient way to search for incidents, is by using Students, our Student Scope Selector tool seen throughout Illuminate. This tool provides the ability to search by classes, sections, departments, rostered, specific or multiple students, even Additional Filters such as grade level, gender, EL Status, and more. Any filters selected are optional. Using filters helps in refining the results you will see when on the report.
By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Incident
There may be circumstances to search by an incident's ID, Type, date range, location, staus, description, who it was referred by, or even the supervisor. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.
Any filters selected are optional. Using filters helps in refining the results you will see when on the report.
Search by Participant
Within the Participant search, you can create a report by selecting a participant role, employee name, and/or other personnel that may have been documented within the incident. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Motivation
The Motivation search, a report can be pulled to show a series of results by what motivation such as why they have behaved that way or the reason behind their behavior. You can select more than one motivation, depending on your needs. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Intervention
Interventions are an option can be assigned to a Major Incident, as part of a behavior plan for students. Using this search criteria, can show results on interventions most commonly used. Interventions are available and created by your District Illuminate Administrator. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Violation
Violations available to assign to major incidents are each tied to a particular Ed Code. Violations are required to be reported for State and Federal Reporting. Searching by violation can include the options of the violation itself and/or the weapon category. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Consequence
Consequences available are a combination of state required and District-created consequences. To search, you can multi select consequences and/or dates when the consequence was assigned. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Search by Expulsion
Searching by Expulsions, the ability to multi select the expulsion term, placement, modification, and/or readmission. By default when selecting Search Records, the report will show all incidents to all students you have access to see.

Reviewing Search Records
Available results will display in order by the most recent or newest date.
- Once you've clicked Search Records, your results will display. Note at the top that all filters you utilized for this search will be listed.
- The incident id is a unique identification number for the incident, helpful to note if needed assistance or support, or for easy searching.
- The incident type such as Major or Minor will be highlighted in green or orange.
- The Date and Time the incident was recorded when first created.
- The current Status of the incident may show results such as Draft or Upon Review.
- Incident Details will display, making sure to highlight the Violation in bold.
- Any or all participants will be listed within Participants and available to be clicked or selected for more information.
- The author's information of who Created will provide the user name, date and time.
- Each incident will have a View, Edit and Delete icon, based on the permissions available to you.
- Use the Search bar to search through results for a particular keyword, phrase, or even ID number.
- If needing to quickly print the results, using the various Print Options available such as MSExcel, Adobe PDF, Word Processor, or Other Available Formats.
Reviewing An Incident Report

Once you click on an Incident Report, you will see a short summary. If you have the correct permissions, you can Update Incident Report, Delete Incident Report, or Download Attachments.
