This lesson walks through using the Become Another User function. This feature allows users with permission to impersonate another user, with the purpose of troubleshooting user issues, accessing shared accounts, and more.
Users with the Become Another User permission will gain full access to all data within impersonated accounts.
Where to Start
- Select the Administration gear.
- Under Users, select Become Another User.
Option 1: Become Another User Search
- Enter the name of the user you would like to become in the Find a User box.
- Select Become User.
The system will list users someone has accessed in the past. You can select the user ID if this is a user you want to become.
Option 2: User Management
- Select the Administration gear.
- Under Users, select User Management.
- Use the filters if needed to find a user.
- Select Search.
- Select Actions next to the user's information.
- Select Become User.
Note that you are now logged in as the user you selected. A green confirmation banner appears displaying the username of the user you are impersonating.
Return to Original User
To return to your original account:
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Select Re-login as [username].
