The Lockdown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Online Testing. The browser is created by and licensed for use from Respondus. When students use the Lockdown Browser, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.
Where to Start
- Download the appropriate resources for the devices at your district.
- Contact DnA Support Specialists to allowlist any applications that should be allowed to run in the background while students are testing. This is an optional step, but could possibly require non-allowlisted applications to be shut down before the locked browser will launch for the students.
- Assign the permission Online Testing - Allow use of the locked browser to any users who wish to enable the locked browser option in their online testing rosters.
