To begin using the Behavior module, there are a variety of permissions available to assign to your users. Permissions to enable are based on desired practice for creating, editing, deleting and managing incidents, running various reports, that are in conjunction with your Behavior or Discipline protocol.
DNA Only Clients will primarily focus on permissions in support Behavior Comments and/or Minor Incidents.
Before You Begin
- Review the Add or Edit Permissions help document prior to moving forward. Best Practice would be to utilize the copy to a role/user feature and drill down to the module of Behavior or Students.
- Permissions vary by role and how the tool(s) will be used. It is important to distinguish which users/roles will need to do necessary actions in each tool.
- Permissions build off of eachother, where permissions for a teacher user should also be assigned to Admin users, in addition to any other permissions needed
For Your Classroom Teacher or Teacher Users
These permissions will focus on those users who need to enter and submit comments, minor and/or major incidents.
Enable Yes to the following for Teacher users, or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- View Student Comments
- Student Comments
- Delete Student Comments
- Edit Student Comments
The above permissions are in relation to their own entered comments and the ability to manage them.
Enable Yes to the following for Teacher users, or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- Behavior Management for the overall module
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Create
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Delete
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Update
- Behavior Management Minor Incident View
- Behavior Management Reports
Add or enable, in addition to the above permissions recommended:
Enable Yes to the following permissions for Teachers, or those users who should have the permissions to do the following, for Major Incidents:
- Behavior Management Major Incident View
For Your District or Site Admins
These permissions will focus on those users who need to manage and maintain incidents at the site level such as a counselor, site administrator, assistant principal, principal, etc.
Enable Yes to the following for District or Site Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- View Confidential Student Comments
- Create Confidential Student Comments
- Delete Student Comments
- Edit Confidential Student Comments
Enable Yes to the following for District or Site Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- Behavior Management Incident Erase
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Erase
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Finalize
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Consequence
- Behavior Management Confidential Attachments
Add or enable, in addition to the above permissions recommended:
Enable Yes to the following permissions for District or Site Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following, for Major Incidents:
- Behavior Management Major Incident Create
- Behavior Management Major Incident Delete
- Behavior Management Major Incident Finalize
- Behavior Management Major Incident Participant Consequences
- Behavior Management Major Expulsions
- Behavior Management Major Incident Partipant Violations
- Behavior Management Major Incident Update
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Convert to convert a minor to a major incident
- Behavior Management Confidential Attachments
For Your System Admins
These permissions will focus on those who will be managing incident reports, participate in setup configurations with the code table, and/or need specific overwriting capabilities within the module. The following are recommended, but may vary based on the site/districts needs of the module.
Enable Yes to the following for the System Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- Override Student Comments
Enable Yes to the following for the System Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following:
- Behavior Management Minor Incident Manage
Add or enable, in addition to the above permissions recommended:
Enable Yes to the following permissions for the System Admin or those users who should have the permissions to do the following, for Major Incidents:
- Behavior Management Major Incident Erase
- Behavior Management Major Incident Manage
