This lesson describes how to navigate the Manifestation Determination Review Wizard Quick Navigation menu. Descriptions of the links and helpful hints are provided to assist with seamless navigation.
This lesson requires that you have selected a student and are viewing a single student's record. If you are unsure how to locate a student, see the "Find a Student" lesson in the "Students" manual for help.
Where to Start
1. Select Student if using ISE only. Select Special Ed if using ISE and DnA and/or ISI.
2. Select MDR Details.
1. Select Create New Process.
1. Select the Host Site from the drop-down options.
2. Input the Meeting Time.
3. Select the MDR (Manifestation Determination Review) Date.
4. Input the Meeting Location.
5. Click Next
Note: Any item with a red asterisk is required.
1. Add the Invited Participants. Note: Any Participant with a red asterisk is required.
2. Click Next.
Notes:
If you wish to print an MDR Invitation Letter select Yes.
If you wish to continue the process and come back to the invitation letter selection Next.
1. Select Yes or No for parent in attendance or student is 18 years old or older. Note: If you select No then two attempts to contact the Parent/student if 18 or older will be required once you select Next.
2. Click Next.
1. Input the name of the person who provided the Procedural Safeguards initially to the parent(s).
2. Select the date the Procedural Safeguards were initially provided.
3. Click Next.
1. Mark if the MDR Participant is Present by selecting Yes. If the MDR Participant is not present, leave this as a No.
2. Click Next.
1. Input all of the required information from the student's file including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
2. Input all of the required information from the student's IEP including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
3. Input all of the required information from the teacher's observation of the student including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
4. Input all of the required information from the relevant information provided by the parents including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
5. Click Next.

2. Input all of the required information from the student's IEP including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
3. Input all of the required information from the teacher's observation of the student including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
4. Input all of the required information from the relevant information provided by the parents including Date of Review, Data Source and Summary of Information.
5. Save Options: A) If you select SAVE AREA it will save ONLY this data while keeping the rest of the areas' data. You will need to SAVE each area BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PAGE BY EITHER: 1) Selecting SAVE AREA for each are or 2) Select SAVE ALL to save the rest of the areas on this page. B) Save Area will save all areas on the page.
Note: Once you have Data saved in each area the Next Button will appear beside Back Button.
1. Select No or Yes in response to if the conduct in question was caused by or had a direct and substantial relationship to the student's disability. Note: A text box will show up for either No or Yes in order to add the supporting information.
2. Select Yes or No (Note: There are two different options for No) in response to if the conduct in question was the direct result of the school district's failure to implement the current IEP.
3. Select the appropriate radial button to note IF the behavior subject to discipline is or is not a manifestation of the student's disability. Note: The Additional Options ONLY show based on IF it is a result or IF it is not a result.
4. Click Next. NOTE: Next will not show up until each Consideration Area has data.
1. Review the MDR by clicking the link in blue "Preview PDF" and make changes as appropriate.
1. Once you have finished previewing the MDR and made any required changes, select the check box beside, "I have preview this MDR and confirm that all information is accurate and is ready to be published."
2. Select Publish.
Note: If you do not wish to Publish but there is no longer a need for the MDR, select Close and choose the correct reason for closing the MDR.
3. Select the Date the Parents were informed/given their copy of the MDR.
4. Select the method that the Parents were informed from the drop-down.
5. Select Yes to Publish.
6. Click Publish.
You have completed the MDR Process. To print select Print just below Print Link.
