This lesson will guide you through Skills Assessment Reports such as Flashcards, Parent Letters, Student List, and Custom Reports.
Use this as a guide to facilitate the training in a computer lab. Show the videos before users log in or view one video at at time so users can follow along.
Before You Get Started
- All users will need to be logged into their own Illuminate account.
- Users should have a current Skills Assessment with recorded attempts or administrations. A prerequisite course would be U315 Skills Assessments.
- Don't have one but want some that are already built and ready? Check out Assessments We Already Built for You and look for Skills Assessments such as BPST, Dolch Sight Words, etc. You can request that these be installed.
Skills Assessment Flashcards

Navigation: Assessments > View Assessments > Find and Select the desired Skills Assessment > Reports > Select Skills Assessment: Flashcards
To generate a Skills Assessment Flashcard report:
- By default, select View in Browser to generate the report about your rostered students (Teachers), or students you have the visibility to see
- Student Scope Selectors or Filters are OPTIONAL, refining who the report and results will be about
- A Skills Assessment must be chosen for the report to generate as expected, which is marked with a red asterik (*)
- An additional feature is for the report to create Flashcards for All Questions or the Missed Questions according to the results
- If any changes to filters are made, select View in Browser to trigger or refresh and generate the report with the new selections
- When viewing in the browser, select Previous or Next Page to navigate through the document, or Show All to scroll down through the screen
- When desired, select Download as PDF to obtain a copy and saved to your device

Skills Assessment Parent Letter

Navigation: Assessments > List Assessments > Find and Select the desired Skills Assessment > Reports > Select Skills Assessment: Parent Letter
To generate a Skills Assessment Parent Letter report:
- By default, select View in Browser to generate the report about your rostered students (Teachers), or students you have the visibility to see
- Student Scope Selectors or Filters are OPTIONAL, refining who the report and results will be about
- A Skills Assessment must be chosen for the report to generate as expected, which is marked with a red asterik (*)
- If the assessment's design includes Question Groups, an additional option is to include them on the parent letter
- An additional feature is for the report to create Flashcards for All Questions or the Missed Questions according to the results, providing both a Parent Letter and Flashcards
- If any changes to filters are made, select View in Browser to trigger or refresh and generate the report with the new selections
- When viewing in the browser, select Previous or Next Page to navigate through the document, or Show All to scroll down through the screen
- When desired, select Download as PDF to obtain a copy and saved to your device
Getting to Know the Parent Letter:
- By default, the assessments Description, Teacher Notes, and Comments recorded during attempts or administrations are printed on the letter. Currently this is NOT a feature to disable when generating reports
- Flashcards are an optional addition that will can be added as the next page following the parent letter.

Skills Assessment Student List


Navigation: Assessments > List Assessments > Find and Select the desired Skills Assessment > Reports > Select Skills Assessment: Student List
To generate a Skills Assessment Student List report:
- By default, select View in Browser to generate the report about your rostered students (Teachers), or students you have the visibility to see
- Student Scope Selectors or Filters are OPTIONAL, refining who the report and results will be about
- A Skills Assessment must be chosen for the report to generate as expected, which is marked with a red asterik (*)
- By default, If the assessment's design includes Question Groups, they will appear on the report, but can be disabled if desired
- If any changes to filters are made, select View in Browser to trigger or refresh and generate the report with the new selections
- When viewing in the browser, select Previous or Next Page to navigate through the document, or Show All to scroll down through the screen
- When desired, select Download as PDF to obtain a copy and saved to your device
Getting to Know the Student List report:
- By default, Question Groups are included in the report if applied to the assessment, which will generate a student list report with the most amount of information available
- If Question Group option is disabled, a more condensed Student List report will generate

Skills Assessments and Custom Reports
Navigation: Assessments > List Assessments > Find and Select the desired Skills Assessment > Reports > Select +Custom Report
- Create your own custom reports using assessment data, and/or
- Add assessment data to an existing custom report
- Any custom reports that use the assessment's data are linked and available within the assessment's Details page
