This lesson will guide you through creating and ending a TBIP student program. These programs are to be included in your CEDARS I File, and if they are not created on the Student Programs page, the I file will not populate as expected. The state Transitional Bilingual Education Program addresses the unique needs of eligible students who come from culturally diverse backgrounds. The goal of this program is to develop language proficiency that enables students to access the curriculum. This program is specific to Washington State and the program codes must be entered into the Student Programs Code Table prior to TBIP programs being created by school staff. If you do not have a program that you are looking for, contact your System Admin and they can create the needed code.
Where to Start
1. Click on Students.
2. Select Programs.
Creating a TBIP Program
On the Student Programs page (Quick Nav > Student Programs), you will need to:
Select a Student Program (1), Eligibility Code (2), and a Start Date (3) for the program.
4. Once that is done, use the Add button to create the TBIP program for the student.
When your program saves correctly, you will see a green saved successfully confirmation.
Exiting a TBIP Student Program
Follow the same steps under 'Where to Start' above. On the Student Programs page:
1. Choose the student program you wish to exit, and select the Edit button.
2. Enter an End Date (by either typing in the day, month and year, or pushing the calendar button to select a date that way), and an Exit Reason. Exit reasons are code managed and if you do not see the code you need in the dropdown menu, please contact your System Admin so they can add it to the code table.
Once you have saved your changes, you will see a green successfully updated confirmation. You have now exited the student from the TBIP program.
