Assessments can be duplicated to create an identical assessment in an unpublished state. This allows users to update an existing assessment to edit and update, without having to start from scratch, or to make edits to an assessment that has already been administered. This lesson provides users the step-by-step on duplicating an assessment.
Where to Start
- Go to Assessments.
- Select View Assessments.
Duplicate an Assessment from View Assessments
- Find the desired assessment in the list. Then, select Actions.
- Select Duplicate.
Depending on the type of assessment, the next steps for accessing and editing the duplicate assessment vary slightly.
- From within the desired Flexible assessment, select the Advanced Settings gear icon.
- Select Duplicate Assessment.
- A green banner will appear at the top of the page. Select the Copy of [Assessment Name] link to open the duplicate assessment.
- From the desired Item Bank assessment, select the Duplicate icon.
- Select Duplicate to confirm duplication. Once completed, the duplicated assessment draft opens in the Item Bank automatically to start editing.
Any materials attached to the assessment are not duplicated onto the new assessment. Please upload any materials to the duplicated assessment after publishing as needed.
- The duplicate assessment opens in an unpublished state, with "Copy of" added to the title. Make edits to the name, questions, and more as needed.
- Select Exit to go back to the Browse Items page. The unpublished assessment can be accessed in the Draft Item Bank tab of View Assessments to continue editing later.
- Select Done after making changes to Publish the assessment.
