Chromebook Lockdown Browser Extension

The Lockdown Browser is an extension that allows instructors to lock down the testing environment when administering Quick Code assessments to students.

The Lockdown Browser creates a testing environment that prevents students from completing functions that may aid in cheating, such as printing or copy/pasting test materials, or accessing the wider internet or other applications.
The Lockdown Browser for Chromebook devices used to require a Respondus Kiosk Application, but Chrome has recently updated the Chromebook Lockdown Browser feature from this application to a browser extension. This change requires that administrators uninstall the outdated kiosk application, if applicable, and install the new browser extension to continue utilizing the Lockdown Browser for Chromebook devices.
To view instructions for uninstalling the kiosk application and installing the new browser extension, take a look at Installing DnA Lockdown Browser for Chromebooks.
With this update, the student testing experience when utilizing the Chromebook Lockdown Browser has also changed. Take a look at the Lockdown Browser Guide for Students: Chromebook to learn more about these changes.
