In this lesson, you will review how to edit and resync or update Google Classroom Assignments into a Illuminate Points-Based Gradebook.Only student scores will update if changed from Google Classroom Assignments.
Changes made to Google Classroom Assignments do not automatically update back to Illuminate Gradebooks. A manual resync option is available in the event that Google Classroom Assignments scores have changed and changes need to reflect in Illuminate Gradebooks. This is a wipe and replace, so if any customization or changes have been made in the Illuminate Gradebook assignment, they will need to be reapplied to the assignment.
Where to Start

- Go to GradeBook.
- Select My Gradebooks.
- Choose the title of your Gradebook.
- Click Edit on your Goggle Classroom Assignment.
Edit an Assignment

Only certain assignment details can be changed which are highlighted in red. Visit Create, Modify, and Delete an Assignment to learn more about these options.
Also Save This To will copy the imported assignment to other gradebooks. However, they will not be imported or linked, causing the link between Google Classroom Assignments to be broken in applied Gradebooks. Best Practice to keep scores linked is to import the assignment into each gradebook as desired.
Resync Assignment Scores
Student scores may change in your Google Classroom Assignments and they will need to update or resync student scores back to your Illuminate Gradebooks. Make any changes to the student scores in Google Classroom first, then return to your Illuminate Gradebook.
- If you scroll your mouse over the assignment name to see assignment options.
- Select Resync from Google Classroom to update changes.
- Select Resync to confirm the message that such updates will only apply to the existing gradebook.
- Select Cancel to go back.
Scores should reflect updated changes from Google Classroom in no time.
I Don't See My Scores! Only graded and returned scores in Google Classwork will import into Illuminate Gradebooks. If you don't see scores, make sure to visit your Google Classroom and check if work is returned.
Next Steps
Helpful Tip! Setup a Google Classroom Tag to apply to assignments. All gradebook reports and views can filter by this tag for quick and easy review.

As of 2019-05-09 final screenshot in document is still showing old link verbiage "GC Resync" but I think it is supposed to say "Resync from Google Classroom".
Yes, we have a lot of Google updates coming so we haven't come across changing this just yet. We appreciate the look out, changes to come.
It's unfortunate that I can't edit the title or that Illuminate can't handle more than 24 characters. I'm having to go back and change all of my assignment titles in GC, and having to abbreviate or not use special characters looks unprofessional.
This is still not working. The only thing that happens, is the assignment is copied over from Google Classroom into my Illuminate grade book. There are no grades being transferred over. I have tried to resync...nothing. Is there a more specific problem with this feature?
Is there a way to "resync" all google classroom assignments at the same time? It's really time consuming to "resync" every assignment individually, wait for it to load, reload 25 pages (from the bottom) to see older assignments, and THEN resync a another edited assignment from GC! There has to be a faster way, right?!
