This lesson will review how to review the Score Breakdown of report cards that are pre-populated on the entry screen.
Where to Start

The Score Breakdown is available in each of the entry options as reviewed in the Elementary Report Card Grade Entry Overview lesson. You will see the score breakdown in two entry options:
- Entry by Field Group
- Entry by Field
If your district has or will implement gradebooks to feed into your report cards the gradebook type (Points-Based or Standards-Based) and setup (Grading Practice) will need to mirror your report card field setup.

When entering data using the Entry by Field Group option, you will see the score breakdown for all fields in the selected field group.
Score Breakdown Details
Depending on how the report is built by your team, some data may automatically be populating on your entry screen and you might wonder how it got it there. Score Breakdown will allow you to see how the field is built and how the data is collected for the student.
- This field is setup to pull data directly from your Gradebooks. This does require teachers to Configure Report Card Data Links first, but if Gradebooks are being used they can pre-populate in the report card.
- Fields like Effort are going to be the value you chose in the entry screen.
- Some fields setup to pull from Gradebook require the assignments to be linked to Standards. Here you can see which standards need to be linked to your assignments to populate a value in the field.
- If a value defaults or is populated, you may have the ability to overwrite the value, or change it. If you do, we log it here.
Other fields that may populate for you come from Custom Reports or Attendance Data. This means the data is coming from another source from within DnA and it is most likely you can view, but not edit it.
