For schools with Classroom - created courses, it may become necessary to transfer them when the year rolls over. Before following any steps below, please transfer your previous term's groups. For assistance with transferring group, please see the Groups: How Do I Transfer a Student Group Across Terms help document.
Before you Start
Note: Only Administrators will have access to do Classroom course transfers. Please contact your school's Classroom Administrator if you need these permissions.
Where to Start
On the left navigation bar, select the Grade tab and choose the Grade Transfer option.
Download and Transfer Courses
On the Transfers page, choose the Classroom Course Transfer option.
Before transferring the courses, they must be downloaded. Select the courses you wish to download and click the Download option.
The naming convention for the file is "skdCourses_[DBN]_[Term].csv". Where "DBN" reflects your school's DBN and Term reflects the current school year and term. Ex: "skdCourses_00X000_151.csv"
Note: The Term is always a 3 digit number. In the above case it means 2015-2016 Term 1. Further examples: 152 corresponds to 2015-2016 Term 2; 161 corresponds to 2016-2017 Term 1.
After downloading the file, do not open the file. Locate it on your computer, without opening the file, right-click and rename the file to reflect the new term.
Now that you've downloaded courses and renamed your file, you're ready to transfer. On the Course Transfer page, click the Choose File button and select your file. Click the Upload button to complete the transfer. Any errors or notifications will display under the Choose File button.
