This lesson will guide you through setup for a Single Sign-On integration with CLEVER for staff and student users.
Before You Get Started
These instructions pertain to the Clever District Admin role within Clever. The Clever District Admin will make the request to install the Illuminate Education app on behalf of the district. Once the installation has been approved, the Clever District Admin will be able to deploy the app to all staff users that should have Clever SSO access into Illuminate products.
There are current technical restrictions that prevent every client from using Clever. The three requirements are as follows:
- Clients must not be using LDAP remote authentication.
- User's email in Illuminate must match the user's Clever email address. If it does not, the users wil be prompted to login to Illuminate and link their user account to their Clever account.
- Each user needs to have a unique email address.

- Select Install now to begin.
This is how you request Clever SSO access for Illuminate Education.
Clever & Illuminate Work Together
Clever notifies Illuminate of the request to install the SSO app. Illuminate will complete the necessary configuration to link the Clever District ID to the Illuminate client account. Once complete, Illuminate will approve the request.
Confirmation and Approval
Once Illuminate has approved the request, Clever will provide a confirmation email that the app can be installed. The Clever District Admin will now be able to deploy the Illuminate app to all of their Clever users that should have Clever SSO access to their Illuminate account.
Users will be able to login with Clever from the Illuminate login screen immediately following the approval confirmation.
If enabling SSO for students, Clever admins must publish the Illuminate SSO app for students to access within Clever.
