For CA Clients Only, this lesson will guide you through setting up the ability to display ELPAC and CAASPP Score Letters for your child(ren) in the Student & Parent Portal.
Before You Begin
The following required to review before proceeding with this lesson:
- Permission to Manage Third Party Integrations.
- User Access and Credential information to TOMS account as assigned for your District/LEA or easily accessible to you.
- DnA Student and Parent Portal configured and available to Students and/or Parents.
- State Assessments widget must be enabled for the Portal by DnA.
- You will need to contact Educational Testing Services to get the required info noted below, such as Username, Secret Key, and API URL.
DnA does not have your organization's TOMS account information nor can DnA configure the integration on behalf of your organization.
Where to Start
1. Select the Administration Gear.
2. Under Other, select Integrations.
- Under All Integrations, find Education Testing Services integration and select View.
Enter ETS Information
For All Sites
- Enable all sites by selecting District to start.
- Enter your API URL which should be https://caaspp-aws.ets.org/api/v1/token.
- Enter your Username.
- Enter the Secret Key.
- To test the integration, which ensures the above information is valid, select Test Integration.
- To complete this integration, select Save Integration.
- At any time, you can Remove Integration, which will disable the integration and remove the information from Student and Parent Portal.
Set a Calendar Date! ETS requires that you update your login credentials every 90 days. That information will need to be updated in this integration as well.
- For LEA's within an organization, select the site from the Site Selector.
- Enter the LEA's API URL which should be https://caaspp-aws.ets.org/api/v1/token.
- Enter your Username.
- Enter the Secret Key.
- To test the integration, which ensures the above information is valid, select Test Integration.
- To complete this integration, select Save Integration.
- At any time, you can Remove Integration, which will disable the integration and remove the information from Student and Parent Portal.
This will not change any other site configuration, but rather override the new information for this selected site only, with the credentials entered.
Configured Integrations
To view all configured integrations, click Configured Integrations. This will also allow you to download a log of each time an integration has been added/removed.
Errors When Testing Integration
- "Provided API URL is either invalid or currently unavailable."
- "Provided Username/Secret Key is either incorrect or has expired."
- "The API URL needs to be a valid URL string."
Error Codes in Portal and What They Mean
- "Could not connect to 3rd party integration(s). Please try again in a few minutes. Error Code: ETS001"
- This signifies that the API URL is either down or incorrectly added by the system admin.
- "Could not connect to 3rd party integrations(s). Please contact your school admin. Error Code: ETS002"
- This signifies that the username/password used for this site/district has expired or is incorrect.
- "An error occurred while trying to connect to 3rd party integrations. Please contact your school admin. Error Code: ETS003"
- This signifies that the student's state student id is unrecognized by the CAASPP API.
