Item Bank Items
Items will be migrated over in phases. Items that will not be migrated include:
- Unpublished items
- Multi-part items
- Any items with a rubric (other than Constructed Response)
- Items without correct answers selected
- Items with images which are not accepted by the new Item Bank
- District Bank items updated outside of the last year
If items are missing that do not fall under the above criteria, please contact support.
The items in the screenshot above are item types available for users to create.
All items have the option to link a Passage (book icon), link Standards (3 paper icon), and apply Tags (tag icon). Use the three icons on the left hand side of the item to perform each action.
To learn more, visit Link Passages, Standards, and Tags to an Item in the Item Bank.
- If looking for specific items, use the Search function at the top of the results list to search for an Item ID.
- If looking for a large array of items, try searching for 1-3 standards at a time but multiple item banks.
- Filters should only be used to limit your search. For example, any item type is acceptable, leave the item type filter blank rather than selecting all item types.
Please take a screenshot of the issue and contact the support team at dnasupport@illuminateed.com to communicate with the product team as needed. Please include information on what you are currently seeing and what you are expecting to see.

Item Bank Assessments
Assessments created in the Legacy Item Bank will remain untouched and can continue to be analyzed as they have been historically.
Duplicating Item Bank assessments is currently avilable. This allows users to duplicate a Legacy Item Bank assessment and create it as a new Item Bank assessment. Items that were not already migrated into the new Item Bank will not appear on the duplicated assessment.
For example, the new Item Bank does not currently support multi-part items, so those items are not migrated into the new Item Bank. On an assessment with 10 questions, where question 10 is a multi-part question, when that assessment is duplicated into the new Item Bank it will only have 9 questions, assuming all other items have been migrated.
Yes! Personalized Review Assignments or activities assigned to students based on assessment results to target their skills immediately following the assessment, will be available to use in support of the new Item Bank and Flexible assessments. Legacy Item Bank assessments will not have the option to assign PRAs at this time.
You can learn more about PRA by visiting Personalized Review Assignments (PRA).
