The following are most common questions and answers about Personalized Review Assignments, or PRAs.
General
The author of an assessment can add PRAs and shared users can add PRAs. So they can remain sticky and be edited by the user for their students, not effecting the original.
Great question! Determine your readiness by reviewing the following:
-
Do you use Flexible Assessments or Item Bank assessments?
- Currently PRA works with Flexible assessments and Item Bank assessments.
-
Do you use Online Testing?
- While PRAs can be used for any administered assessment in DnA, the best experience is after an online administration, where students take the assessment online and then can begin the PRA activities to receive activities based on their assessment scores within minutes of submitting scores.
-
Do you use Student Portal?
- Students do not have to use portal everyday, but the DnA Student Portal must be configured for your site. The portal is connected with Online Testing and the PRA Tool.
- Using Quickcode Administration for Online Testing doesn't require portal for students to log in to to take assessments but it uses portal to launch the tools. PRA acts the same way.
Flexible Assessments and Item Bank assessments support the use of PRAs.
Assessment Building & Administration
Students can return to portal to access the assessment and begin the PRA after the teacher has graded the items using Enter/Edit. Students will receive a message when they try to access PRAs, that there is a wait and will be available soon.
Visit How to Start My PRA's After a Test to see what a student sees.
When creating a Flexible Assessment, you will complete the creation process with Access PRA in the Administration tab. You can create PRAs anytime, however it is best practice to create them before administering the test when possible.

No! The assessment can be administered however you want: scanning, enter/edit, online testing, or combination of. As long as the assessment is administered in DnA, PRAs can be assigned and students can access them through the portal afterwards.
No, PRAs are unique to each assessment.
No, duplicated assessments will not bring the PRA with it. Since PRAs are unique to each assessment, a new PRA needs to be created for the new assessment.
Adding & Assigning PRAs
The tool does work on a resource being added to a skill or standard. You can add one resource to one standard, or add resources to all standards, or some standards. Your choice.
You can also add Challenge Activities which are not tied to a standard, but for students who master 100% of the content.
In Advanced Options, you can add a Custom Resource that like a Challenge Activity is not tied to a standard but an activity for students who master or the assessment, or mark as Always Required for all students regardless of assessment scores.
Yes, currently a student will get a resource for a standard if they missed at least one question for the standard.
If they master the skill or standard, they will not receive that activity.
Any resource accessible via a unique URL can be used as a resource in a PRA.
Attachments or PDF Uploads are not allowed in the PRA tool, but are part of the assessment creation process when adding materials to an assessment.
Based on assessment results, activities start with the lowest scoring skill/standard.
As for how many or min/max, by default there is an algorithm that determines the min/max per student; an advanced option allows the PRA author to control the min/max more precisely.
Visit How Does PRA Formula Work? for more details.
When using Advanced Options such as Required, you are changing how the tool works to your own settings. Consider the following carefully logic if and when applied:
- Required activities, then
- If you got 100% on the assessment, the challenge activity, or
- If you didn't get 100%, assessment-determined review activities

Resetting their submissions will clear all scores and start the data over. By default, students can do the activities as many times as they want but the first completion records is the data collected.
To reset a single students PRA activity, you have to visit the PRA page to do so. Navigate to Student Results Table and for the student to reset, click on the activities.
Great question! There are a variety of graphs and information about your students' PRA progress available to you.
Dependent on how you set up your PRAs, you can receive the following data:
- Time Spent
- Last Accessed
- Completion Score (%)
- Student Results Table
- Multiple Choice Student Performance
- Multiple Choice Question Difficulty
