This lesson contains Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding linking assessments to Gradebooks.
Linking Assessments to DnA Gradebooks
Automatically syncs student scores and changes to student scores from an assessment to Gradebook (no more having to push multiple times). You can also create assignments by the Overall Score, Standard Score or Question Group score. This ensures accurate averages and grade reporting.
You cannot change scores for the assessment from the Gradebook, only from the Enter/Edit page in the Assessment Overview. If an assessment score is changed, it will automatically update in your Gradebook.
Not at this time. You will need to make sure that when linking that all Gradebook assignment information is entered accurately. If you mis-entered information you will have to delete the assignment entirely, breaking the link from your assessment to your Gradebook and then re-link them, following the same process outlined below.
Yes. You are able to break the link between a Gradebook assignment and assessment which will allow you to then modify assessment scores/information in the Gradebook.
After you link an assessment to a Gradebook, you can click on Assignments > Manage Assignments and adjust the category.
No. You must create a new assignment when linking. You can do this from the Gradebook or from the assessment.
No. If you need individual standard scores on your report card you will want to link an assessment to your GradeBook by standard. This will ensure the most accurate by standard average on the report card. Keep in mind that you can also bring over the overall score if you wish. Lastly, assessments themselves can now be linked to report cards without having to link them to a GradeBook and DnA will know how to average the standard scores correctly. This will need to be setup by your district.
Push Assessment Results to Aeries Gradebook
No. The Aeries Gradebook integration only allows users to push points to the Gradebook.
The assignment date in Aeries and the First Date Administered date in your DnA assessment must match.
Contact a district system administrator so they can check the Aeries Gradebook integration setup.
Push Assessment Results to School Loop Gradebook
The School Loop assessment push will not work unless the First Date Administered date in your assessment matches or is before the Date Taken dates for your students.
You can change the First Date Administered date by doing the following:
- Go to Assessments > View Assessments > click on the title of your assessment.
- Click Setup > Information.
- Click More Options.
- Change the First Date Administered date to the day the students took the assessment, or a day before the students took the assessment.
- Click Save.
- Click Administration > Push to School Loop to retry the assessment push.
This error displays when your school site does not have the School Loop integration set up. Either change your Control Panel to the correct site, or contact your district administrator to verify the School Loop tool is working as expected.
This error displays when:
- The assessment has 0 results.
- You are not logged into the teacher account students are rostered to.
- The student Date Taken dates are not within the term.
The Push to School Loop tool will still work. If you are using the same assessment shell for more than one year, set the Academic Year tag to Repeats Yearly (Setup > Information > More Options). As best practice, we recommend duplicating the assessment so you have a brand new copy to push to School Loop.
Push Assessment Results to Synergy Gradebook
No. Only District Assignment (Measure) Types display at this time. If teachers would like to use teacher-created measure types, they will have to modify that field in Synergy once the assignment is available in the Synergy Gradebook.
No. The Synergy Gradebook integration only allows users to push the overall score (points) to the Gradebook.
Yes. Backdate your Control Panel to a date when the previous class was active. The class will then display in the Class dropdown for you to select.
Push Assessment Results to Q Gradebook
Make sure the due date of the assignment in your Q Gradebook falls within the current grading period.
The points possible field in the Gradebook assignment may not match the points possible in your DnA assessment. Once these values match, re-pushing the assessment to your Q Gradebook should send the correct student scores.
