The C4S Chapter for Administrations contains information which is intended to be helpful to those who are providing the set up, etc. around Caring for Students.
This chapter is meant to be a complete guide for setting up and using the C4S Module. Detailed descriptions of how to add a role, add encounters, add/edit scripts, etc. are provided. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us at isesupport@illuminateed.com.
The first step is to add the appropriate C4S role(s) to the appropriate user(s) for each site they need to be affiliated to with this role.
Why? If you do not have a user set up with the correct C4S role then when you go to add a C4S service there will not be any providers/users available to select.
What Roles should you use? Specific C4S roles have been added to Role Management specific to C4S provider types. These are to be used for any C4S needs ONLY.
WHY? This is because these roles are tied to various components for C4S Medicaid.
Can I change the role name? You can change the role name but do not add any additional roles or edit any other component within the role itself beyond the name and the role level.
How do I add a role? To learn more about what roles are available for C4S and how to add a role to a user go here: C4S Roles
The C4S Key Data Page is meant to be a central place to keep key dates for the C4S/Plan of Care. This includes the Plan of Care Date, the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) Consent for C4S Services Date and more.
What must be filled out on this page in order to have a C4S Encounter be accepted as part of a billing batch? The Parent(s)/Guardian(s) Consent for C4S Services must be entered.
NOTE: A C4S service/encounter will not be accepted in a billing batch IF this date is AFTER the C4S service/encounter date.
WHY? We do not want to submit a service to MDHHS that was out of the scope of the parent/guardian consent.

Answer: Yes
Follow up question: Should you add/edit the name (code translation) of the code within the code table or inactive the current code and add a new one?
Answer: It depends on what you are wanting to adjust. Best Practice is to inactive the code that requires a change and add a new code. Be sure to let others know that the code will be inactive of ___date and that a new will be active as of ____ date.
