This lesson guides users through using Student Groups to automatically enable students for FastBridge. Student Groups are dynamic, so as students are added to the group, students are enabled for FastBridge. This creates the FastBridge link within the student portal for students to easily access FastBridge for testing.
For districts that were manually enabling students, as a courtesy, and so that those manually enabled students will not see any loss in service, DnA has converted the list of manually enabled students into a static Student Group.
It is recommended to create a NEW dynamic student group (based off grade level, sections, etc). Once you've created that dynamic Student Group, and confirmed via the View Student List tab in that Student Group, that all expected students are present, feel free to disable the courtesy group Illumiante created and enable the dynamic group.
Before You Begin
Auto-enabling students requires that Student Groups be created ahead of time. For more information on Student Groups, visit Create a Student Group.
Where to Start
- Go to the Admin Gear.
- Select Integrations.
Configure FastBridge Integration
- Select the Configured Integrations tab.
- Select Configure next to FastBridge Learning.
Enable Students
- Select a Student Group from the dropdown menu.
- Select the Permission Status of Enabled for Disabled for the group.
- Select Submit to enable or disable the student group for FastBridge.
- Any districts that already have students enabled for FastBridge automatically have a FastBridge Students group enabled on this page.
Student Groups are dynamic. If a Student Group is setup for all 5th grade students, any time a student is enrolled in 5th grade, the student is automatically added to the Student Group. If that Student Group is enabled for FastBridge, that student will automatically be enabled for FastBridge.
Student View
Enabled students have a link to FastBridge Learning via the Student Portal.
The FastBridge link can take up to 24 hours to appear after a student is enabled for FastBridge.
