Code Management is where the district system admin can manage all district code tables that affect drop-down options users will see on screens throughout the DnA system. Instructions to add or make changes in code management are found often in this System Setup and Admin Help Manual. Below are the basic instructions on how to access Code Management.
Where to Start
1. Select the Administration Gear, then select Code Management.
Select a Code Table
- Use the drop-down to select the Code Table that needs to be managed.
- Select Load.
Add a Code Translation
- Select Add Code to create a new Code Translation.
- Enter the System Key into the textbox.
- This value is stored on the back-end of Dna/ISE.
- For example, EN is a System Key for English.
- This key is particularly geared toward ISE.
- Enter the System Key Translation into the textbox.
- This is the more user-friendly short text of the System Key that displays in in Dna/ISE.
- Enter the Code Key into the textbox.
- An alpha or numerical key that is stored on the back-end of DnA/ISE.
- For example, 00 is the Code Key for English.
- Enter the Code Translation into the textbox.
- This is a word or short phase explaining the Code Key and is a more user-friendly short text of the System Key that displays in in Dna/ISE.
- For example, English would be a potential Code Translation for a Code Key of 00.
- Use the dropdown menu to select a Site.
- The Site selected determines which site this code is available.
- For use at all sites, set this to the 'School District'.
- Enter a State ID into the textbox. (ISE Only)
- Enter a Sort Order into the textbox. This should be a numerical value.
- This determines the order in which the values show in a dropdown or list.
- For example, a value of 1 would show at the top of the list, 2 would be after that, and so on.
- Enter a System Key Sort into the textbox.
- Select Save.
All Code Translation configurations are optional.
Edit a Code Translation
- Select the Pencil icon to edit a Code Translation.
- Enter the System Key into the textbox.
- This value is stored on the back-end of Dna/ISE.
- For example, EN is a System Key for English.
- This key is particularly geared toward ISE.
- Enter the System Key Translation into the textbox.
