Students can "Start Over" with any question in their online test BEFORE they advance to the next question. Once an answer has been submitted, an answer is required. For example, a student selected A on a multiple choice question and then clicked start over. The answer is cleared and they advance to the next question. The system didn't record a response for that question. The student answers A and then hits NEXT to go to the next question. The student returns to the previous question because they changed their mind and click START OVER. The response isn't cleared. However, they can change their response. For graphing response, students can plot the points and return to the question to make edits to the points by clicking on the point directly and dragging it to the new position.

Here's a screen cast we recorded to illustrate the functionality for students.
