When creating your categories in the gradebook, there is an option to choose how many of the lowest scores should be dropped in the gradebook when calculating the overall score.

There are a couple of scenarios.

    1) The lowest scores are both in assignments with equal point value and therefore equal weight in the gradebook.

In this case, the oldest assignment score is dropped.

    2) There are two low scores, but the points possible for each assignment is different. In this case, the assignment that is worth more will be dropped. Consonant Recognition and Letter Recognition are both low scores, but Letter Recognition is worth 26 points.

All homework assignments total 56 points. However, from the calculation details below, you see that this student shows 30 possible points, indicating that the Letter Recognition, which was worth more overall, was dropped.
