choose all of the following- online
I migrated an old test to the online platform. some of my answers had multiple letters. For example "Choose all of the following..... "answer ADE
I when I saw it online, I was very frustrated. On the selection window, the ones with only one answer, would only let them select one answer, they could not select a second incorrect choice as well. If The answer was A, it would only allow one choice, not AB or any other combination. The answer selections were circles.
If the correct answer had multiple letters, the selection marks changed to squares, and they could select multiple answers. This told them there was more than one choice in the correct answer.
Is there any way not to give a hint to the answers to questions with "Choose all that apply.." type questions?

Hi there,
When I first saw those squares, I thought it was a mistake too! It turns out that our itembank partners and our Illuminate system mirror state testing format which also shows bubbles for multiple choice (one answer) and squares for multiple select (more than one answer).
Here is a great resource from SBAC to allow you to browse item types.
I have seen people create multiple choice questions with answer choices like AB, AC, AD, AE, BD, BC, BE, etc. as the options and then only allow one correct choice. This is more like a matching question though.
Give us a call (949-242-0343) or email (help@illuminateed.com) if you want additional ideas for using Illuminate to be creative with question design.
