    Hi, Jerome!

There is a way to do that using your import file. In the users.txt file, field 25 Is Active needs to be set to 0 which is Not Active.

You can then process just that file using the one time import tool or you can wait for the update to happen through your nightly automation.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I did this twice now, but this is creating new users and set to inactive instead of simply changing the existing users' status.  The first time, I messed it up by using their log-in username in the Local User ID column.  The second time, I replaced the data in that column in my TXT with the Illuminate user ID, selected "replace" in Core Data Import Mode (did that both times), but it created yet another inactive user account of that same name.

Now I have three accounts for each person, with the first remaining active and the two subsequent ones being inactive.

Both times, the result of the import/validation came back 100% green, which doesn't really help me determine if data quality is good.

    So now two questions:

    1) What am I doing wrong to where I can't update existing user records (our automation is off for the summer so I have to make these changes manually)?

    2) How can these duplicate accounts be deleted?

    Hi, Jerome!

I'm converting this to a help ticket so we can work more specifically on this issue. Any time that the user ID in the users.txt file changes, it will create a new user account. That user ID should always remain as the user ID in the SIS of record. It's what links schedules and rosters to the correct teacher and therefore grants their student access. I'll reach out to you in a ticket in a few minutes. Thanks!
