Data Imports: Where can I find the Data Specification / Data Dictionary

  The Illuminate data spec can be found at the downloads page: https://www.illuminateed.com/downloads. 

  There are three specs:

  • Core Data Spec: the basic, core batch of data. Every installation should send this data in.
  • ISI (other) Data Spec: This data is required for ISI installations. Many of these datasets are also available for other installations to installs
  • Health Data Spec: It's the health data. Mostly only imported for ISI installations, but there are a lot of files so health has it's own spec.

  Data specs have recently been added into your Illuminate installation. To find the spec:

  1. Log into Illuminate and click on the Admin Cog wheel.
  2. Under the Data category, click on Data Specifications

   I noticed that Data Specifications under the Data Category has "Illuminate Field" and "Illuminate Code" but not everything is populated.  Is there a plan to update that  as it will help tremendously accessing the back end.

  Not all fields have codes that correspond to the fields.  Many fields are expecting specific data values.  Was there a particular field you had a question about?

  Term values are open-ended and can be anything districts want to create. When defining terms in the Term Manager they should be values that align with what is being sent in the mastschd.txt file. The code has an exception that if the term is built with a Y value any term will be converted to a Y. Setting a term up as a Y is the best solution. All terms will be converted to a Y and the roster file will place the student based on the students records.
