Locking items keeps them from being used/seen by other users. Typically, the only role that has the ability to lock/unlock items is the System Admin, so the only person that is able to view locked items are those with the System Admin role.

Why would you lock items? For example:

A district wide benchmark is being created, but you don't want teachers to be able to use/view the same items that are going to be used on that benchmark in their own itembank assessments.

Required Permission: Itembank - Lock, Unlock, & Use Locked Items
