I've dabbled at using the BI Tool for a couple of years now but have not been successful. I have begun to create a basic BI Tool Report that teachers can pull up that would show the students' English Language Status, 2019 ELPAC Overall Level, 2019 SBA ELA and Math Level as well as distance from Standard, as well as whether or not the student is special ed.
The custom report was easy to create and I followed the steps in the Illuminate BI Tool Guide using the portrait template and have successfully gotten to the point where I have the fields from my custom report in the Jasper report. I was even able to change all my fields that needed it from String to Integers.
I've read the Jasper documentation about the different bands and successfully added a column band in which to place my field headers (for lack of a better word). I don't know how to add these static text fields. I think after that I would drag my fields from my report into the details band.
I know I have gaps in my understanding and need to fill them in. Can any of you point me in the right direction or show me how I can view a .jrxml file that would show how a roster is set up?
Are there any plans to have a BI Tool workshop? At this point I'd be willing to go anywhere in the US to attend one. (I live in Central California).
